Job Description

## Job Description (English) ## SSC CGL 2026 Tier-I Schedule – English Information The Staff Selection Commission has announced an important examination-schedule update for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026. The Tier-I Computer Based Examination is scheduled to be conducted from 30 September to 30 October 2026. This is an examination update for candidates who completed their applications under the original CGL notice. It does not reopen the application window, create a new recruitment drive or change the eligibility conditions published earlier. Candidates should distinguish the overall examination window from their individual examination date. SSC may conduct the examination in several shifts and at different centres during this period. A candidate’s precise date, reporting time, shift and venue will be communicated through the Commission’s examination-city information and Admission Certificate facilities. Applicants should not travel solely on the basis of the overall date range. They must wait for and follow their candidate-specific information. ### What the schedule update means The announcement gives candidates a defined preparation window. Tier-I begins on 30 September 2026 and can continue up to 30 October 2026. Candidates should use the remaining time to revise the notified syllabus and practise computer-based mock examinations. However, the examination pattern, marking rules, qualifying conditions and subsequent Tier-II process must be read from the official CGL 2026 notification and any later notice issued by SSC. Coaching material or a previous-year pattern should not override the current notice. ### Application and vacancy clarification This schedule notice does not invite fresh applications. Candidates who missed the original application deadline cannot submit a new form merely because an examination date has been announced. Similarly, the notice should not be described as a new vacancy notification. Vacancy figures can be tentative and SSC may publish separate post-wise or category-wise vacancy updates. A website should retain the verified vacancy information on the original recruitment page and add this dated exam update to that page. ### City information and Admission Certificate SSC generally provides examination-city details before making the Admission Certificate available according to its stated procedure. Registered candidates should log in using their correct credentials and check the official portal regularly. They should not depend only on forwarded messages. Once available, the Admission Certificate should be downloaded and its instructions read carefully. The spelling of the name, photograph, examination date, reporting time and centre address should be checked immediately. Candidates must carry the documents specified by SSC. This normally includes a printed Admission Certificate and an acceptable original photo identity document, but the current official instructions will be final. If the identity document does not show the complete date of birth, an additional original document mentioned by SSC may be required. Candidates should not carry prohibited electronic items or rely on storage facilities at the centre. ### Preparation guidance Tier-I evaluates the areas specified in the official syllabus, which generally include General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Candidates should confirm the current section structure, duration and negative-marking rule from the 2026 notice. Preparation should include timed practice, error analysis and revision of high-frequency concepts. Accuracy is important because incorrect answers may attract negative marks under the notified scheme. A practical approach is to revise one subject block at a time, solve full-length computer-based tests and maintain a list of recurring mistakes. Candidates should also practise reading questions on screen and moving between sections within the permitted rules. Any sectional-timing provision mentioned for the current examination should be followed during mock practice so that the actual interface does not feel unfamiliar. ### Avoid misinformation Candidates may see unofficial claims about a specific shift, centre, cancellation or postponement. Such claims should not be accepted unless SSC publishes a corresponding notice. An exam city is not necessarily the exact examination venue. The final centre address and entry instructions shown on the Admission Certificate must be followed. Candidates should also avoid sharing registration numbers, passwords or personal documents with unknown persons. ### Guidance for publishing this update This information is best merged into the existing SSC CGL 2026 recruitment page with an ‘Exam Date Update’ label and a visible update date. The page should make it clear that applications have not reopened. It should link to the SSC portal and avoid an active ‘Apply Now’ button that suggests new registrations are being accepted. When city information or Admission Certificates become available, the same page can be updated rather than creating several thin duplicate pages. ## SSC CGL 2026 Tier-I परीक्षा – हिंदी जानकारी Staff Selection Commission ने Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 की Tier-I परीक्षा के लिए महत्वपूर्ण schedule update जारी किया है। Candidate की सही date, shift, reporting time, exam city और centre address SSC के login, city-information facility तथा Admission Certificate में उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। Admission Certificate मिलने के बाद नाम, photograph, examination date, shift, reporting time और centre address ध्यान से पढ़ें। ### तैयारी कैसे करें Candidate official syllabus के अनुसार General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude और English Comprehension की तैयारी करें।
