**Recruitment Overview** Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway, Prayagraj has issued GDCE Notification RRC/NCR/GDCE-01/2026 dated 28 September 2026. The post-wise vacancies total 656. This is a General Departmental Competitive Examination recruitment and is NOT an open-market railway recruitment.

**Who Can Apply — Important Restriction** Only eligible serving regular employees, excluding RPF/RPSF personnel, who have lien in North Central Railway can apply under this GDCE. Candidates from outside North Central Railway must not apply.

**Eligibility** Qualifications differ by category. ALP/Technician posts require the prescribed Matriculation/ITI or permitted technical qualification; JE categories require the relevant engineering diploma or accepted higher engineering qualification; clerk categories require the notified 10+2/typing conditions. The required qualification must satisfy the detailed notification and employee service-record conditions.

**Age Limit** Age is reckoned on 1 January 2027. The notified upper limits are 42 years for UR, 45 for OBC and 47 for SC/ST, with a minimum age of 18 years, subject to the GDCE conditions.

**Salary** The posts span 7th CPC Pay Levels 2, 3, 5 and 6 depending on category.

**Selection Process** Selection includes a single-stage CBT, followed by CBAT/Aptitude Test for ALP or typing test where applicable, Document Verification and Medical Examination.

**Exam Pattern / Syllabus** CBT syllabus is post-specific. Wrong CBT answers attract 1/3 negative marking. Candidates should prepare according to the technical/non-technical syllabus for the category selected and use the official GDCE notification for the final scheme.
